We are very excited to start the school year next week on Wednesday, August 18.
First I wanted to introduce myself, I am Chris Miesner, the new principal at Sparta Lincoln. I look forward to getting to know you and your children. The Sparta Lincoln staff have been working diligently this summer to prepare for your children to return and the excitement is in the air to begin next week. Please read below for important updates.
Face masks - All students, staff, and visitors will be wearing a face mask when indoors on school property. This safety measure is in place to help protect us all. Thank you for your patience and working with us.
Sick Child - Again this year we ask that if your child is sick or showing any symptoms to please keep them home until the symptoms have subsided.
Virtual Open House - This information will be shared on the Sparta Lincoln School website by 6 pm on Tuesday, August 17.
First Day of School - Wednesday, August 18 and we will dismiss at 1 pm.
Arrival to School - The doors will open at 7:30 am for the students to come in for breakfast before spacing out in the big gym (4th-8th grades) or small gym (preK-3rd grades). The students will then be dismissed at 7:50 am to start their day with their homeroom teachers. If your child/children choose not to eat breakfast at school and you are able to drop them off around 7:40 am, this would help us to space students out more in each of the morning areas.
Dismissal from School - We will again be staggering out student dismissal starting at 2:50 pm. Please do not congregate around the exits if you are picking up your children. We need these areas to remain clear for our students and staff. On the primary side of the building, please stand in the designated area in the parking lot or remain by your car in the drive through area. There will be staff out there on the first day of school to assist you if needed. The teachers will help to get your child to you.
Wednesday Dismissal Time - Please note that our Wednesday dismissal time has changed. We will dismiss at 1 pm on Wednesdays.
Thank you for taking the time to read over this information. Let's have a fantastic school year!
Preschool screenings will be held on Wednesday and Thursday and appointments can be made by calling the office. Preschool families of students returning will be contacted on Friday by teachers about details for starting on Monday, 8/23.
