Welcome to Sparta Lincoln School!  We hope that you find the information on this website helpful.

Sparta Lincoln School provides  academic instruction to students ages Pre-K to grade 8 in a safe environment to become responsible and respectful members of the Sparta, IL community.

Amy Price, Principal

During morning drop off, and parent that needs to be in the building aside from walking a students into the school must enter through the exterior main office entrance.  We understand that using the office entrance to sign in and then also sign out isn't convenient for our parents/guardians, but this safety practice is imperative and your cooperation is appreciated. Thank you!

All visitors and guests required to check in with the main office when entering the building.

Thank you for understanding.

FROM DISTRICT 140 STUDENT HANDBOOK

PROMOTION:

Subject areas to be considered are language arts, math, science, and social studies. If final grades in three or more subjects are failing, the student will be considered for retention as follows:

  1. If the student has satisfactorily completed grade level standard assessments in the failed subject areas, placement will be determined upon mutual agreement with parents, administrators, and teacher(s).

  2. If grade level standard assessments were not satisfactorily completed in failed areas, the student will be retained.

  • In order to be promoted to 9th grade, an 8th grade student must pass the Constitution tests.

DUE TO GOVERNOR PRITZKER'S EXECUTIVE ORDER 2020-15 STATING THAT ALL STUDENTS WILL NOT BE TAKING THE CONSTITUTION TESTS IN THE SPRING OF 2020, 8TH GRADERS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO TAKE THE CONSTITUTION TEST.

GRADES:

The grade for a class can not get any worse than what it was on March 16th, the last day in attendance in the building, if the student had all assignments turned in to date. (ex. If you had a 88% in the class when you left, and had all of your assignments up to date, you would still have a 88%). For the students that have continued to turn work in during the distance learning period (anything assigned post March 16th), their grade can only go up.  The final grade will not be lowered for anything assigned post March 16th.

**Attention Parents**

Please be sure to check emails and have your child check their email from school. Teachers are reaching out to get information on the best way to provide instruction to your child. Thank you for all your help during this time
